My friend Hugh and I grew up together as kids and I was extremely fortunate to be reacquainted with him shortly before he passed away in his 20’s. During this all too brief later acquaintance I learned that the child and teenager I grew up with was a very thoughtful individual who hid that trait behind a wisecrack. Certainly Hugh was on his way to a solid future when he left us in the prime of his life. He was a good man and I miss him.
