Joseph L. Patanella, age 57, passed away tragically on July 19, 2019, in Homer, Alaska. Born June 10, 1962, to James and Clementine Patanella. Joe graduated from Bowie High School and later the University of Maryland.
Joe is survived by his wife, Aimee, their three beloved sons, his parents, three sisters, and countless nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved fiercely.
Joe was a member of Saint Mary’s parish in Annapolis, and a generous supporter of several charities including: Charity Water, Pencils of Promise, and International Justice Mission, through his own nonprofit foundation, ReignWorks.
Joe lived out his faith daily in both word and deed. He was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and those who knew and loved him will not soon recover from his absence. A funeral Mass will be offered at Joe’s childhood parish of Sacred Heart in Bowie, on August 14, 2019 at 11 am. Donations in Joe’s name can be submitted at: josephpatanella.com
