Karen (Vossler) Gooding

Karen J. Gooding, 47, of Selbyville, died March 24 at home.

She was born in Cheverly, Md. and was the daughter of Janice (Winstead) Vossler and the late Arthur Vossler.

She was a homemaker and a member of Fenwick Island Baptist Church. One of her greatest accomplishments as a child was winning 1st place in a contest to design the Bowie city patch. The patch was designed by Karen in 1976, and the award was given in 1977.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Gooding of Selbyville; her six sons, Darrin J. Gooding; and Justin Louis Gooding both of Glen Burnie,; Garrett Matthew Gooding of Ocean View, Del.; Scott A. Gooding; Kyle G. Gooding; and Paul S. Gooding all of Selbyville; her two daughters, Bonnie M. Gooding and Hannah J. Gooding, both of Selbyville; her mother, Janice J. Vossler of Bowie and Ocean Pines, Md; her two sisters, Teri L. Conner of Durham, N.C.; and Nancy J. Baker of Crofton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, at Fenwick Island Baptist Church, 36806 Lighthouse Road, Selbyville, Del. with Rev. Mike Fillis officiating.

I remember having classes with Karen, and she was always a pleasant person to be around.  I am sorry to hear of her passing.
